Mark Holcomb, Kathleen Kelly and Lisa Knutson Named to Bethesda Inc. Board Leadership Roles

Cincinnati, OH – February 23, 2016 – Bethesda Inc., a major funder of health care transformation and co-sponsor of TriHealth, announced today that its board has elected three trustees to key board leadership positions, according to Jill Miller, executive director.

The new leaders include J. Mark Holcomb, who has been named chairman of the Board of Trustees; Kathy Kelly, elected vice chair and governance committee chair, and Lisa Knutson, who will be the chair of Bethesda Inc.’s grants committee.  All three will serve on the executive committee.

“I am honored to lead Bethesda Inc. and to continue to evolve and enhance our innovative grant-making program to transform health care delivery in Greater Cincinnati,” Holcomb said. “Through our work as co-sponsor of TriHealth, the region’s largest health system, we believe transforming health care delivery is not only possible, but we are investing in new ideas that are delivering better care, improved health, and lower costs.”

About Mark Holcomb

Mark Holcomb is a Senior Vice President – Investments with Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Mr. Holcomb is also a United States Navy veteran, serving as an advanced instructor pilot and naval aviator.

Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering from Tulane University. He also volunteers his time and talents for the Dan Beard Council of Boy Scouts of America as a Challenge Camp Coordinator and as chair of the Cincinnati May Festival.

About Kathy Kelly

Kathy Kelly is president of Kroger Personal Finance for The Kroger Co., where she is responsible for overseeing its financial products and services offerings. During her career with Kroger, she has served as assistant treasurer and director of investor relations for the retailer.

Kathy holds a Masters of Business Administration with a finance concentration from Xavier University and a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and economics from Miami University. She also serves on the board of trustees for Easter Seals Tristate, YWCA of Greater Cincinnati and the SC Ministry Foundation.

About Lisa Knutson

Lisa Knutson is chief administrative officer for The E.W. Scripps Company. She manages company-wide corporate functions, including strategic planning, information technology, human resources, vendor governance, corporate communication, investor relations, program management and the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Prior roles include senior vice president of human resources for The E.W. Scripps Company, vice president for Fifth Third Bank and director of audit operations at Arthur Andersen, LLP.

Lisa is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy from Miami University. She serves on the board of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber as chair of its Leadership Cincinnati steering committee. She also serves as president of the board at Camp Joy, and as a board member of St. Vincent De Paul and Family Nurturing Center in Northern Kentucky.
